THE PROCESS

  • 1) contact Alison to discuss what kind of painting you would like to commission + submit high quality photos


  • 2) Alison will make a mock-up design


  • 3) once the design has your approval, you'll pay a $50 deposit


  • 4) upon receiving the deposit, Alison will create your custom work within 2 weeks, unless otherwise noted


  • 5) final payment is made + painting is delivered to you!

What kind of photos do I need?

Reference photos for portraits need to be close up and clear, with good lighting. They should capture the personality of the subject. Photos for other subjects (your childhood home, favorite car) should also be clear and well-lit.

Can I commission a painting without a photo?

Yes and no! If you really just want a particular kind of painting (ocean landscape, monkey, astronaut--whatever!) I can work with you to design it. However, I cannot create a painting of a specific person or pet without a high quality reference photo.

How long does this take?

When you submit your reference photos, I'll create a mock-up of the finished work. Upon your approval, you will pay a $25 deposit. When the deposit is received, I'll finish your painting within 2-3 weeks, unless otherwise specified (There may be a wait depending on how many commission orders I have) .

What is cradled wood, materials, etc?

I paint on DaVinci Ultra-smooth Gesso Panels using Golden Fluid Acrylic paints. The panels are made out of wood, with a smooth surface. The panels are 2" deep (portrait of Mackie, below, shows a panel that is only 3/4" deep).


For your finished painting, the sides will be painted with the background color of the painting (unless otherwise specified) and the painting will be finished with polycrilic varnish + wired for easy hanging.


The completed artwork will not need to be framed, and make a beautiful statement on your wall.
